Details
Audiolab 9000Q Stereo Preamplifier is a refined preamplifier that goes beyond expectations designed by Jan Ertner. Featuring an advanced ES9038PRO DAC chip, it employs proprietary circuitry to maximize the capabilities of ESS's HyperStream II architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology. This allows the 9000Q to deliver unparalleled dynamic range and low distortion, making it ideal for high-resolution digital audio.




Design and Performance
The 9000Q offers a highly improved MM Phono input with a new single-stage Class-A circuit, creating an excellent phono stage on its own. The new custom-specified transformer ensures controlled performance and retains the signature Audiolab clarity and detail.
The 9000Q follows the sleek design of the 9000 series, with a sturdy build and flawless finish. At first glance, it closely resembles the 9000N, featuring dual rotary controllers and a 4.3” color TFT screen. However, the 9000Q is much more than a simplified version of the 9000A integrated amplifier—it’s a dedicated preamplifier that’s been meticulously designed for superior performance.




Tone Controls and Inputs
The 9000Q incorporates new tone controls for treble and bass adjustment, offering a range of +/-6dB in 2dB increments, allowing users to fine-tune the sound to match room acoustics, speakers, or personal preferences.
The 9000Q also allows for fully balanced stereo XLR signal paths, a direct input-to-output connection with minimal circuitry, and the option for AUX 3 to be configured as “AV Direct,” connecting directly to external AV processors.




The preamplifier accommodates multiple analog and digital inputs, including 3 line-level AUX inputs, a balanced XLR stereo pair, a dedicated phono input, and several digital options (2x COAX, 2x Optical, Bluetooth 5.1, PC USB). It also features a fixed-level AUX output and three variable Pre outputs (2 x RCA, 1 x XLR), which can be used simultaneously without affecting performance.


A dedicated headphone amplifier section ensures top-quality performance across a wide range of headphones, preserving the audiolab signature sound.
