The Challenge & Client Vision

Mr. Bhatia required a dedicated, high-performance home cinema that could deliver an authentic, immersive cinematic experience. The primary challenge was integrating a powerful 5.1.2 sound system and a large 120-inch screen within a moderately sized dedicated room without sacrificing aesthetic appeal or space.

Room Dimensions: The room presented the following fixed dimensions, defining the acoustical and visual parameters for the design:

Height (H): 2700 mm (2.7m)

The client also requested a premium, luxury finish, specifically including electric reclining seating and a captivating star ceiling effect.

The Solution: Design & Acoustic Integration

1. Acoustic and Visual Foundation

The room’s dimensions, while compact, were meticulously analyzed to ensure optimal speaker placement and viewing geometry. The 120-inch 16:9 screen was selected as the largest suitable size for the room width, ensuring comfortable viewing distance and maximizing immersion without leading to excessive eye strain.

The design utilized a 5.1.2 speaker layout, maximizing the immersive bubble of Dolby Atmos within the given volume.

2. Technology Selection & Justification

The following components were chosen to meet the performance demands of a dedicated medium-sized cinema space while addressing the aesthetic requirement for minimal intrusion.

Surround Speakers	Klipsch RP-140D Small Ultra-Flat On-Wall	Used for side and rear surrounds, these speakers match the acoustic signature of the RP-640D LCRs, ensuring seamless panning. Their smaller size further minimizes visual impact in the surrounding areas of the room.

Installation Timeline & Scope

The installation was executed in distinct, managed phases to ensure a flawless final result:

Phase 1: Pre-Wiring (12 June 2025)

Full cabling infrastructure was installed behind walls and ceilings, including speaker wire runs, HDMI conduit, and network drops, ensuring all cables were concealed for a professional finish.

Phase 2: Component Installation (29 October 2025)

Installation of the fixed-frame screen, mounting of the Optoma projector, installation of all Klipsch On-Wall speakers (LCR and Surrounds), mounting of the AVR and related source equipment in an equipment rack, and initial calibration (pre-ceiling installation).

Phase 3: Final Finish (31 October 2025)

Installation of the Klipsch In-Ceiling speakers (Height channels).
Installation of the Nova Star Ceiling system and final room treatments.
Final room calibration was performed on the Denon AVR-X2800H to optimize the 5.1.2 system’s acoustic performance specifically for the new room geometry and seating position.

The project successfully transformed Mr. Bhatia’s room into a sophisticated, high-performance home cinema. By strategically selecting ultra-flat Klipsch speakers and a powerful laser projection system, we delivered a true 4K/Atmos experience without compromising the room's space or aesthetic goals. The combination of the precision audio-visual components and the luxurious Star Ceiling and reclining seating guarantees an unparalleled, custom-tailored entertainment environment.
