The Soul 170P is Cayin's newest power amplifier, developed from more than 32 years of experience in vacuum tube amplifier design. Engineered to deliver outstanding musical performance and authority, it features a pure Class A design powered by robust TUNG-SOL KT170 output tubes. Notably, this marks the first time Class A amplification has been introduced within the Soul Series, offering a fresh and emotionally engaging interpretation of the KT170's sonic character.

To accommodate speakers with greater power requirements, the Soul 170P supports both Stereo and Mono operation modes.

Tubes & Circuit Design

At its core, the Soul 170P utilizes four TUNG-SOL KT170 beam tetrodes configured in a Class A push-pull topology. The amplifier also incorporates the following tube stages:

Voltage Gain Stage: 2 × 12AU7
Two JJ 12AU7 tubes handle the initial voltage amplification, preparing the signal before it reaches the output stage. Their low-noise and low-distortion performance ensures stable and accurate signal processing.

Driver Stage: 2 × 6SN7
The JJ 6SN7 tubes operate in the driver section, known for their rich musical character and strong driving capability. They contribute to a presentation that is both emotionally immersive and finely detailed.

Dynamic Auto Bias System

The Soul 170P is equipped with an integrated Dynamic Auto Bias servo system, enabling effortless replacement of power tubes without the need for manual calibration. This intelligent circuit continuously monitors and regulates each KT170 tube's operating condition, ensuring optimal performance, proper matching, and extended tube lifespan while maintaining operational safety.
