Does the Dual CS 429 require a dedicated Phono input on my amplifier?

No. The CS 429 features a built-in, switchable phono preamplifier. On the back of the unit, there is a "Phono/Line" switch:

  • Set to LINE: You can connect the turntable to any standard auxiliary input (labeled AUX, CD, or Tape) on modern amplifiers or even directly into powered speakers.
  • Set to PHONO: This bypasses the internal preamp, allowing you to use a high-quality external phono stage or the dedicated "Phono" input on a vintage or high-end receiver.

How does the Fully Automatic system work, and can I use it manually?
