High-Efficiency Three-Way Design: Combines a 12-inch woofer with new horn-loaded drivers for precise, wide-reaching sound.
-
Full-Range Passive Radiator: A massive 15-inch rear radiator uses internal pressure to deliver deep, powerful bass extension.
-
Advanced Fidelity Network: Re-engineered internal circuitry uses premium components to ensure cleaner sound and better power handling.
SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE IS OUR SPECIALTY
Since its 1985 debut, the Forte rapidly became the top-selling Klipsch speaker. Its sophisticated look and exceptional capabilities distinguished it from its rivals. Klipsch brought the Forte back into the Heritage speaker line in 2017. The current Forte IV incorporates modern aesthetic touches and the newest acoustic engineering breakthroughs, all while keeping the classic appeal that led to its initial success.

The high-frequency driver, constructed with a titanium diaphragm, now includes an innovative phase plug designed to expand the listening area and provide a more precise sweet spot.

A completely redesigned K-702 compression driver for the midrange delivers remarkable precision and powerful sonic energy.

Utilizing patented Mumps technology, our Tractrix® horn ensures that high-quality sound remains steady and balanced across your entire room.
ENGINEERED AND PRODUCED IN THE UNITED STATES
WITH LOCAL AND GLOBAL PARTS
Improving on excellence is a delicate balance. Although we have implemented significant enhancements in Forte IV, it has stayed largely the same since it was first created. We haven't forgotten what true high-quality audio sounds like. The cabinets for the Forte IV continue to be manufactured in Hope, Arkansas, by dedicated artisans. This remains exactly as Paul W. Klipsch (PWK) envisioned.
-
Bi-Amp Input Panel: Aluminum binding posts for versatile bi-wiring or bi-amping.
-
Book-Matched Wood Veneer: Mirrored timber patterns for a beautiful, seamless appearance.
-
Grain-Matched Pairs: Sequentially numbered cabinets sourced from the same timber for a perfect visual match.
-
Heirloom Build Quality: High-grade adhesives and fasteners built to last for generations.
1
How does the Forte IV technically differ from its predecessor, the Forte III?
The Forte IV introduces a completely revoiced high-fidelity network inspired by the Klipschorn's steep-slope design to minimize electrical degradation. Additionally, it features the updated K-702 midrange driver and a new wide-dispersion phase plug on the tweeter, improving high-frequency accuracy compared to the older model.
2
What are the key internal component upgrades in the Klipsch Forte IV?
The Forte IV features a completely redesigned high-fidelity network for better power handling and a new K-702 midrange compression driver. It also incorporates a new wide-dispersion phase plug on the high-frequency driver to create a broader, more accurate listening sweet spot.
3
How does the speaker achieve such deep bass in a relatively slim cabinet?
While the front features a 12-inch fiber-composite woofer, the speaker utilizes a massive 15-inch rear-mounted passive radiator. This radiator operates on acoustic pressure from the active woofer, significantly extending low-frequency output down to 38Hz.
4
What technologies ensure consistent sound across the room?
The midrange K-702 driver is mated to a modified Tractrix® horn featuring patented Mumps technology. This design ensures an even polar response, providing more consistent sound quality throughout the entire listening area rather than just directly in front of the speaker.
5
Can I use specialized wiring configurations with this speaker?
Yes, the Forte IV is equipped with a premium aluminum input panel featuring dual binding posts. This allows for high-quality cable connections and supports both bi-wiring and bi-amping configurations.
