Go Big or Go Home! A Massive 160-inch Home Cinema Experience!

Here at Digital Cinema, we love helping people create truly unforgettable entertainment spaces. Sometimes, our clients want to go really big, and we're always up for the challenge! We recently finished an incredible home cinema installation at Mr Maddys place in Kellyville Ridge.That's a perfect example of going all out for that amazing movie magic.

This project was all about creating a massive, room-filling cinematic experience. The room itself was a great size to work with: 4.5 meters wide, 5.9 meters deep, and 2.9 meters high. This gave us plenty of space to make something truly special.

Picture So Big, It Fills Your Eyes!

First things first, the screen! We installed a gigantic 160-inch Carson screen. That's huge – much bigger than any TV you'll find! To light up that massive canvas, we used the fantastic Epson EH-TW9400 4K PRO-UHD projector. This projector delivers a super sharp, bright, and colourful picture that makes you feel like you're right inside the movie. It truly fills your vision, just like at the local cinema.

Sound That Surrounds You (and from Above!)

Of course, a big picture needs big sound! We set up a powerful 5.2.4 Dolby Atmos sound system. This system brings sound from all around you and from above, making you feel totally immersed.

The brain behind all this sound is the Denon AVC-X3800H 9.4ch AV Receiver. This is a seriously capable piece of gear that makes sure every sound effect, every piece of music, and every bit of dialogue is crystal clear and perfectly placed.

For speakers, we used a custom setup with high-performance Klipsch speakers:

  • PRO-25RW in-wall speakers for the front left and right sounds. These are inwall speakers and sits flush with the wall, so you get powerful sound without taking up space in the room.
  • A R30C center channel speaker, which is super important for clear movie dialogue.
  • PRO-18RC in-ceiling speakers for both the surround sounds (coming from beside and behind you) and the amazing Atmos effects (coming from above!). Again, these are hidden away in the ceiling for a super clean look.
  • And for that thunderous bass that makes you feel the explosions, we added dual Jamo C910 10-inch subwoofers. Two subwoofers mean even smoother, more powerful bass throughout the room!

The beauty of using these in-wall and in-ceiling Klipsch Pro Series speakers is that you get incredible, high-performance sound, but the room still looks sleek and tidy. No big boxes taking up space!

The Complete Cinema Experience

This wasn't just about throwing a projector and speakers into a room. It was about creating a complete, dedicated home cinema. While we don't have all the details for this specific case study, Digital Cinema always focuses on the A-to-Z experience, from planning and pre-wiring (if we get in early enough!) to selecting the perfect screen, projector, sound system, and even comfy recliners and clever TV units.

Step 3: The Dazzling Finish – Star Ceiling Installation

Now that the room is complete with home cinema component installation, it was time for the cherry on the top.  Our team returned on another day to add the ultimate touch of luxury: an "amazing star ceiling" using the Nova Star Ceiling system. This isn't just a pretty light show; it truly adds to the magical, immersive feeling of being in your own private cinema under the stars. It was the perfect final touch to complete the experience.Also as we have said earlier in other blogs as well, Star Ceiling is not just all looks, it adds immense value to the acoustics of the room , as the star ceiling is made from acoustic foam material.
