Details
The Cayin Jazz 90 is a carefully hand-built vacuum tube integrated amplifier created for listeners who value rich analog warmth combined with contemporary flexibility.
Featuring selectable TR (Triode) and UL (Ultralinear) modes, compatibility with both KT88 and EL34 output tubes, and an upgraded in-house developed toroidal transformer, the Jazz 90 celebrates the art of tube rolling and sound customization. It honors traditional tube amplifier heritage while delivering the adaptability and dependability modern audiophiles expect.
Tube Configuration
At the heart of the Jazz 90 is a thoughtfully designed tube layout:
-
Input Stage: 2 × 12AX7 / ECC83
-
Driver Stage: 2 × 6SN7
-
Output Stage: 4 × KT88 (switchable to EL34)
The amplifier operates in a Class AB push-pull topology, providing strong drive capability and dynamic performance suitable for a wide variety of musical styles.
A rear-panel switch allows users to choose between two operating modes:
-
Triode Mode: Produces a lush, smooth midrange with natural harmonic richness—ideal for vocal-focused recordings.
-
Ultralinear Mode: Delivers greater power, improved control, and enhanced headroom—well-suited for large-scale orchestral works and energetic electronic music.
With accessible external bias controls and tube selection switches, users can easily perform tube rolling and fine-tune performance to match their sonic preferences.
Bias Monitoring Indicator (BMI) & Protection
For enhanced durability and operational safety, the Jazz 90 integrates a Bias Monitoring Indicator (BMI) system. This intelligent feature continuously checks the condition of the power tubes and automatically engages protection if irregular current levels are detected. Should an issue arise, the amplifier safely powers down to protect both the tubes and internal circuitry.
Bias calibration is straightforward thanks to dedicated front-panel meters and top-mounted selectors assigned to each output tube, ensuring accurate and optimal bias settings at all times.
Bluetooth Integration
Blending classic tube sound with modern connectivity, the Jazz 90 includes Bluetooth 5.1 powered by the Qualcomm QCC5125 chipset and ESS ES9018K2M DAC. It supports high-resolution wireless codecs such as LDAC, aptX HD, aptX LL, AAC, and more for superior streaming quality.
Remote Control Convenience
A full-feature infrared remote is included, enabling easy adjustment of volume, mute, and input selection. This ensures effortless system control from your listening position for a comfortable and immersive experience.
