Details
Wharfedale ASTON Speakers combine classic elegance with contemporary engineering, featuring a cabinet design that honors audio tradition while incorporating modern innovations. Its refined aesthetic presents a perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication, creating a speaker system that feels both timeless and cutting-edge. The authentic heritage elements blend seamlessly with advanced technology, resulting in a beautifully crafted loudspeaker that respects its lineage while embracing the future of sound reproduction.

Timeless Excellence
The Aston represents Wharfedale's enduring design philosophy through its classic two-way vented enclosure. Meticulously finished with handcrafted wood veneer and featuring a recessed front panel complemented by a heritage-inspired fabric cover, this speaker marries yesterday's craftsmanship with today's innovation. By skillfully integrating time-honored acoustic principles with cutting-edge engineering solutions, the Aston delivers exceptional sonic performance while maintaining an authentic connection to Wharfedale's distinguished history.

Engineering Excellence
At the heart of the Aston lies a sophisticated driver configuration featuring an advanced Carbon Fibre mid/bass cone mounted in a solid cast frame, working in perfect harmony with a soft dome tweeter powered by a ceramic magnet system. The mid/bass driver is distinguished by its elegant gold-finished phase plug, strategically positioned at the cone's center to ensure remarkably fluid and lifelike reproduction of critical upper-midrange frequencies where voices and instruments reveal their true character.

Precision Through Passion
The Aston's crossover network represents the culmination of exhaustive development, refined through countless listening sessions to achieve a musical presentation that balances excitement with accuracy. Peter Comeau, Wharfedale's Director of Acoustic Design, has devoted himself to perfecting the integration between drivers, ensuring they work in complete unison. This meticulous attention to detail creates a cohesive sonic signature where individual components disappear, leaving only a seamless musical experience that faithfully reproduces every nuance of the original recording.

Elevated Performance
The Aston experience extends beyond the speakers themselves with purpose-built stands that complement their sonic and aesthetic qualities. Crafted from premium British steel in an elegant open-frame design, these stands feature luxurious furniture-grade glass panels at both ends. These stands offer exceptional stability and torsional rigidity, ensuring the Aston speakers perform at their absolute best. The comprehensive package is thoughtfully completed with protective stainless-steel spike seats and fine handling gloves, reflecting Wharfedale's attention to even the smallest details.

British Craftsmanship Reborn
While global manufacturing realities shifted Wharfedale's production overseas in the late 20th century, the brand has proudly returned select premium offerings to their British roots. In 2022, parent company IAG launched an ambitious "Made in the UK" program, bringing the creation of distinguished models back to British soil.

The Aston represents the pinnacle of this homecoming initiative, joining the flagship Dovedale in being crafted entirely within the Huntingdon facility. Together with select offerings from sister brands Mission and Castle, these speakers embody a renaissance in British audio engineering—combining heritage, expertise, and innovation in a celebration of domestic manufacturing excellence.
